New Volkswagen Star Wars Theme Commercial Airs

There I was on this laptop computer with Jay Leno playing on the TV in the background.  Then they go to commercial break and all of a sudden - I start hearing dog barks.

Dogs barking in a particular way... A Star Wars theme song.

Then towards the end of the commercial, there is this greyhound dog who is wearing a AT-AT walker costume (i.e. Imperial Walker from "The Empire Strikes Back.")  Then you see a white screen and then the VW logo.

This is the latest entry of Volkswagen Star Wars theme Super Bowl Ad teasers.  Last year, VW scored big with the little kid that was dressed up as Darth Vader.

Want to host a Superbowl party and need a really SPECIAL invite? A invite to the (Dark)Bark side of the Force. Check out the special little ditty Volkswagen has produced for your enjoyment.

By the way, here is a breakdown of the dogs and what characters that they represent.  Back row, left to right: C3PO, Obiwan Kenobi, Stormtrooper. Middle row, left to right: R2D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader.  Bottome Row, left to right: Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Wicket W. Warrick (Ewok).

Of course, if entire video is not visible on this blog, just click on it and view it on YouTube.

Out of This World Theme Brothel to go Operational

This is one of those stories that just makes you kinda grin. Then shake your head in bemusement. And then for others, they get all disgusted with the very notice of sex for sell. But its making the rounds and what the hell, I decided to go ahead and post it on my blog as well. Any excuse to post sexy looking female aliens will not be passed up I have decided as a New Years resolution for 2012.

Seems like there is the brothel owner by the name of Dennis Hof who is age 65 and runs the Moonlite Bunny Ranch. He is friends with the infamous "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss who has been selected by Hof to design some of the costumes. Her "new" title is that of Chief Alien Design Queen.

The location for this Alien Cathouse is near the infamous Aera 51 which is 90 miles northwest of sin city.

And the type of clients Hof is hoping to attract to this new brothel? quote: The important details regarding the working women are still being hashed out, such as whether or not to paint the women green to resemble Orion Slave Girl characters from Star Trek.

However Hof tells CBS Las Vegas that for the clients he is reaching out “to everyone, all the Star Wars fans and Trekkies,” and cater to all flavors of geek fantasy. end quote.

Heck, he even wants to get Star Trek icon Captain James T. Kirk (aka William Shatner) to get onboard with the project.

West Texas Comic Con(2009)

The West Texas Comic Con(2009) was held yesterday at the Lubbock Science Spectrum Center. I spent the entire day there just sitting with a friend and watching the world go by his table.

Will Terrell, the founder of theLubbock Sketch Club, the Creator of his own web comicknown as "Super Zeros" did the official poster for the event. Members of the 501st Legion out of Abilene, Texas, were in attendance. They are a part of a international organization of "Star Wars" cosplayers. And they wore their costumes. There was even an "inspection tour" by none other Darth Vader! A independent film company out of Austin, Texas, known as Twitchy Dolphin Flix. They were showing their movie "Funny Books" at this convention.

Please visit the Lubbockonline blog (see link below) for more details of the guests who where in attendance. But in this posting of mine, I want to post some pictures that I took at this event. Enjoy.

Paper Modelling

Have you ever attempted to make one of those paper models look like what the photographs in the magazine (or nowdays, online)? Sorta like the picture above? Yeah, me too and failed every time that I tried. And everynow and then, I get the urge to try again.

Just discovered this website and included in it was this model of the Ark of the Covenant scale almsot scale to the correct dimensions for one's 1/6th scale Indiana Jones figure. See the related link below.
On Paper Replika.com there are many subject items to choose from. There is even a Star Wars section. There is even a papermodel of the UFO that crashed at Roswell in 1947 (based on the testor's kit it looks like to me). Or how about the Discovery from the movie "2001 A Space Odessey." Pretty neat.
