Bloviating Zeppelin: What has Mr Obama done?
Bloviating Zeppelin: What has Mr Obama done? A good reference piece put together by BZ. Read it and save it for election day this year. For that EXTRA bit of motivation you need to get to the polling booth.

Battleship Texas Reopens!
I never have any luck with trying to visit this vessel. Its always close whenever I went down to the Houston area. In fact, I stopped trying decades ago to even visit it. But, in the back of my mind, I still wanted to visit the battleship U.S.S. Texas. In high school, I actually was able to tour the guided missile cruiser U.S.S. Texas that paid a port call to Galveston, Texas, in 1978.
Then in June of this year came reports of new leaks.
The battleship U.S.S. Texas now has a new patch on her hull to stop a leak that threaten the 100-year old vessel. The ship was now reopened to visitors.
Ship manager Andy Smith said the following: "Our emergency is controlled," he said in an email. "Now we have time to evaluate and develop an intermediate plan." Long term solutions will have to be addressed soon.
The leak was found on June 9th and 1,000 gallons per minute pumped into the vessel from the leak.

USS Vella Gulf in China
China Defense Blog: USS Vella Gulf in China
On closer inspection, you will see a 'large' head sticking up from the bridge of the cruiser. This is a very neat large scale model ship.
This picture comes from the original article over on China Defense Blog. I just wished that there were more details to go along with the pictures that are located on that website.
